We use Inkscape for the following reasons:
* It is a very advanced package capable of drawing anything
* It's SVG file format is the web standard for vector graphics and for use on the web
* Graphics are vector based, so can be zoomed without loss of resolution
* Graphics elements can be manipulated as elements in a webpage
* Inkscape can import almost anything, including PDFs, and export almost any file type

Inkscape is a free graphics design package based on the SVG graphics format.
